Featuring Camp for Grades 3rd-6th
Even though all of our camps are wonderful, I’d like to feature the camp for Grades 3rd-6th in this post. This particular camp appeals to kids who LOVE LOVE LOVE art and crave high-end supplies with opportunities to experiment and learn. The first session is next week and surprisingly, there are still a few openings. I imagine the remaining sessions will sell out soon, so if you want to be sure your young artist gets to do these projects, I’d check your calendars and see if next week works for your schedule.
This year, I have to admit, the projects are especially wonderful. Besides mosaics, sketching, and painting, we will be teaching photo transfers and incorporating them into a collage onto an 11×14 canvas. This project is challenging, but truly rewarding with a very personal piece of artwork to show in the end. Another special medium we will be teaching is Encaustics. Holly and I found this amazing brand of wax paints last year and decided it just had to be part of camp 2015! We’ve been studying and practicing techniques and are very excited to share them with our campers. The colors are so vivid and the texture is dreamy–they truly are wonderful to work with.
