11 Foodie Places to Visit in Old Webster
If you’re ever visited us at Yucandu Art Studio, you’ll know that we’re located in a really charming, historic area of Webster Groves called (appropriately) Old Webster. We love Old Webster and love being a part of the vibrant business community that exists here. With plenty of wonderful restaurants within walking distance of each other, we think it’s the perfect place for daytime or evening family outings, girls’ night out and even date night! We’ve rounded up our top nine places to visit in Old Webster (in addition to Yucandu Art Studio, of course!) so you can make your next visit something truly special.
Olive + Oak
Olive + Oak is a well-known favorite in the heart of Webster Groves. Featuring tapas, wonderful mixed drinks and a posh dining experience, it’s no surprise that Olive + Oak is the area’s newest hot-spot. Take it from us and make a reservation before you go!
Layla
Layla happens to be right in our building! They have amazing burgers and hummus and so much more. YUM. A great little bar too.
Robust Wine Bar
The perfect place for Ladies’ Night Out, Robust Wine Bar has a wide selection of fine wines plus awesome outdoor seating for beautiful summer evenings.
The Block
The local butcher shop was once an important place in a local community. The Block pays tribute to this with a full-service meat counter, as well as steaks and seafood that are prepared to perfection. The seafood special is usually our favorite. Give their yummy salads a try, too!
DD Mau Vietnamese
Families with young kids will love DD Mau, which is also located next door to us! After an afternoon of making projects together, pop over to this super casual eatery.
C.J. Muggs
For burgers and beer, C.J. Muggs is a classic St. Louis choice. They offer live music every Friday and Saturday night, plus a private banquet room which can host over 100 people! If you’re looking for a unique bachelorette or adult birthday party idea, why not a group project at Yucandu before heading out to C.J. Muggs?
Llywelyns Pub
A great Irish pub, Llywelyn’s Pub is another great choice for burgers and beer. With over 30 draft beers available (and another 30 in the bottle), craft beer aficionados will love the selection along with opportunities to play trivia, watch the Blues, and participate in other fun events. Llywelyn’s is simply a fun place to be.
Fro Yo
Fro-yo is a delectable frozen yogurt spot that’s always popular in spring and summer. Take the kiddos out for a frosty treat before or after a Yucandu session—Yo My Goodness is literally a three minute walk from our studio!
Straub’s Grocery
Straub’s Grocery is an iconic part of the St. Louis community. In fact, there’s been a Straub’s in Webster Groves since 1933! Pick up your own bottle of wine and snack and bring it to the studio for a BYOB evening.
San Jose Mexican
Still walking distance, just on the other side of the community parking lot, this place has great outdoor dining and always looks like fun.
The Sushi Station
The Sushi Station has lots of fresh sushi options and Japanese entrees. I have heard many great reviews about this place!
Old Webster has a charm all its own. There are so many ways to make your next Yucandu visit all the more special by visiting one of the many fine restaurants and specialty shops in the district. Whether you decide to go out before or after (or bring dinner to the studio while you work!), make your visit to Old Webster an event—you’re definitely not short on options.
